I’ve always been aware of the positive and lasting effects that yoga can have on your body, mind, and spirit, however, I never truly understood how profound those changes could be until I dedicated myself wholly to Blue Bird Yoga/ The encouraging environment and instructors allow me to free myself from all insecurities and concerns I have about my practice, and just focus on my personal growth and development. It is honestly a wonderful space to be. – Dina K.
I LOVE Blue Bird!! Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging!! As a lifelong runner I was looking for something to add to my workout routine to give me variety and help me focus on other areas of my body besides my legs. Blue Bird’s variety of classes has allowed me to strengthen other areas as well as work on my much needed flexibility! Thanks Blue Bird for helping me tune into my body!! – Victoria M.
As a lifelong athlete I stumbled into the studio on January 3rd as a result of the famed New Year’s resolution time of year. I told myself I needed to ‘give my body a break’ and take on a new form of exercise. I mentally prepared myself to lose definition and feel less ‘in shape’ than I felt as I closed out 2014. Well, was I sure wrong. Today marks my 26th day of yoga and I feel more energized, have greater definition, and feel more connected to my body than I ever have before. What began as a promise to myself to do yoga for a month has turned into a lifestyle. I rely on my 1 hour of pushing my body to its limits while respecting my capacity on a daily basis. A huge thank you to the entire Blue Bird staff for welcoming me into their studio and helping me engage in my practice. I can’t wait to see what transpires as I continue my commitment to this practice. – Lindsay S.
You women are the inspiration. I know that I am showing up and doing the work but it is because you are so encouraging and motivating. Carrying a one year old up and down stairs several times a day, playing on the floor with a 4 year old, and holding a one year old in my arms for an hour at time….I am an old lady and I know I was able to do this without pain and with energy because of yoga— y’all. This old lady has some strength and stamina. Thank you many times. – Jeanne K.
I am completely amazed by the benefits I have gotten so far from your yoga classes. I noticed a difference in my running posture right after the first class. My strength has increased more in the three months I have been attending than it did after working an entire year at the gym. – Tammy H.
As always after a class, I think to myself, “What on earth did we do before Blue Bird opened?” The stress of exams, assignments, sport practices, laundry and what to wear to Main street tomorrow night has subsided. As we leave the class we all feel calmer, less anxious and grateful for this gift that Blue Bird has given us. – Clarissa & friends, college students at Lindenwood University
I began practicing yoga at age 50 so I’m here to tell you it’s never too late to work on your flexibility. I’ve practiced with Sarah and Ellen for many years now and I thank them every day for my current state of health. They’ve helped me continue my practice through lower back pain caused from sciatica and most recently I practiced with a knee injury. They are always there to listen and provide modifications to the practice. – Kathy I.
Long ago I dreamed of doing yoga and in the last six months I joined the Blue Bird yoga community. My strength, flexibility, and balanced have increased while my blood pressure has dropped over 20 points . I’ve gained patience with myself and the unconditional support and fellowship of my fellow yogis. Blue Bird is a dream come true . Thank you one and all. – Nancy C.
I had never done yoga in the past, was intrigued but worried due to my balance and flexibility. Going to Blue Bird and trying yoga in general over the past year has been so great and has given me a new fresh perspective on my physical and mental health. I love Blue Bird’s friendly inviting environment…I have tried many yoga studios and feel of them all Blue Bird is most like home. – Liz B.
